Ken discusses his volunteer journey and what he hopes readers will take away from The Voluntourist in an interview posted online today by Northern Virginia magazine. “I hope readers will see that you shouldn’t be afraid to challenge yourself; to put yourself in unfamiliar situations and open yourself to new perspectives,” Ken says in the interview. “Whenever I was volunteering, I never felt like a do-gooder.
