Ken Budd’s Book Asks a Tough Question, Says Voluntourism Expert
In his blog on Voluntourism.org, David Clemmons, an expert on volunteer travel, explains why he’s most interested in The Voluntourist. “Ken Budd, a featured author in our upcoming issue of The VolunTourist Newsletter, has been a voluntourist in several countries with several different organizations,” writes Clemmons. “His upcoming book—The Voluntourist: A Six-Country Tale of Love, Loss, Fatherhood, Fate, and Singing Bon Jovi in Bethlehem (HarperCollins, 2012)—will be an interesting read, in part, because he asks a singular question: Is the work I’m doing helpful?” Ken has written a piece on that very topic for Clemmon’s e-newsletter, which will run on Voluntourism.org on April 8.
